Letter (July 15, 1850) written by Josiah L. Parrish of Portland, Oregon to Samuel R. Thurston describing his travels as Indian agent along the upper Columbia River; Parrish reports meeting with several Indian chiefs, including those of the Paloos, Yakima, Spokane, and Klikitat tribes; mentions money owed him for salary and expenses. Parrish also discusses the growth of Portland.
